Testing new security features for : WhatsApp Web

California: Meta's subsidiary messaging application WhatsApp continues to roll out new features for users. Keeping the same continuity, the platform is going to introduce a new security feature for its web version.

The latest WhatsApp Web beta version (2.2333.11) released for select users includes a new screen lock feature, reports WhatsApp Beta Info.

This feature is designed to improve user privacy and security and keep attackers out of the chat.

After turning on the screen lock feature, the user has to enter a password to access their chat on WhatsApp web. It should be noted that if a person forgets his password, he can log out of WhatsApp and re-QR it from the smartphone. Login must be done by scanning the code.

There is already an on-device biometric facility to lock WhatsApp on Android and iOS devices. And now with this feature, the user will be sure that his chats will remain private, even when the user is away from his computer.
